Video captures horrifying moment plane crashes into SUV in Florida, killing three

CCTV footage has captured the moment a small plane crashed into an SUV in Florida, killing three people.

The accident took place in Pembroke Pines on Monday afternoon, with video showing the plane plunge nose first into an oncoming vehicle.

The pilot and a passenger aboard the plane died, along with 4-year-old Taylor Bishop who was travelling in the car with his mum.

Local fire chief Marcel Rodriguez told the Miami Herald the mother, Megan Bishop, is being treated at Hollywood's Memorial Regional Hospital after receiving serious injuries.

It remains unclear what caused the Beechcraft Bonanza to go down, but Rodriguez believes a mechanical problem may have caused it to clip a power line, according to the Sun Sentinel.

"We went out and saw the fire; everything was on fire outside," she says. "It was like a bomb."

Officials are yet to identify the names of the two people travelling in the plane.

North Perry Airport, which is a block over from the crash site, has seen a number of accidents recently. These include two crash landings, and a pilot being killed due to engine failure.

"We see these airplanes flying low all the time and we are always concerned about it," Fernandez says.
