The Minnesota police chief and the officer who killed a 20-year-old African-American man over the weekend have both resigned.

Daunte Wright was fatally shot after struggling with police at a traffic stop in Brooklyn Centre on Sunday (local time).

Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said he believed the shooting was accidental and the officer thought she fired her Taser instead of her handgun.
