COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins and Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield are expected to provide an update on the travel bubble with the Australian state of Victoria at around 4:45pm.
The quarantine-free travel bubble was paused on Tuesday night for 72 hours amid a new outbreak of community transmission in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
But since then the cluster has continued to grow, with 11 new cases reported on Thursday morning.
As a result, Victorian health officials announced the state will enter a seven-day 'circuit-breaker' lockdown at 11:59pm on Thursday (local time).
Hipkins and Dr Bloomfield will be giving an update from Parliament on how these changes will affect the travel bubble.
