Two American teenagers have been arrested for the death of their four-month-old baby after authorities found cocaine in the baby's body and feeding bottles.

Brady Wearn, 18, and Mary Bedenbaugh, 17, were arrested last week over the death of their child in May.

Police were called to the home in South Carolina, where they found the infant unresponsive according to Insider.

The child, whose name and gender have not been released, was transported to Newberry Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Toxicology reports later showed the baby had 'measurable levels' of cocaine in the body, officials told the New York Daily News

A forensic pathologist determined the cause of death was homicide “associated with recent cocaine ingestion.”

The two teens were also tested for drugs and results showed they had cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana in their bodies.

Wearn and Bedenbaugh have been denied bond in court and are being held at Newberry County Detention Center.

If convicted, each could face 20 years to life in prison.
