A disturbing video has emerged of a UK cyclist nearly being run over after falling off his bike, in what appears to be a deliberate act.

The cyclist approached a set of traffic lights on London's Victoria Embankment about 5pm on May 22 when he's seen falling onto the ground.

In the video posted on Instagram, a vehicle is then seen veering towards the cyclist, striking his back wheels and nearly running over his legs. The car then quickly speeds off.

"I'm lost for words," one user commented on the video.

"What the f**k," another said.

A Metropolitan police spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "It is believed the cyclist was part of a group of approximately 30 other cyclists at the time of this incident.

"Officers understand that a cyclist held on to the side of a moving car prior to the collision taking place.

"The driver of the vehicle has since been traced and a full investigation is underway," the spokesperson told MailOnline.

According to police, the cyclist suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
