New South Wales has recorded 35  new cases of COVID-19 in the community on Monday.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on Monday the new cases follow more than 58,000 people getting tested over the weekend.

She says 24 of the new cases were already in isolation for the entire period - but other cases were due to "people doing the wrong thing".

Greater Sydney,  the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong entered a lockdown at 6pm on Saturday 26 June that  is expected to last until midnight on Friday 9 July.

Berejiklian urged people to adhere to the state's lockdown conditions and avoid gathering in indoor locations.

Of Monday's 35 new locally acquired cases, 24 were in isolation throughout their infectious periods and four cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Seven cases were infectious in the community.

Two of the cases are residents in SummitCare Baulkham Hills, bringing the total number of cases associated with the aged care facility to five.

All five residents have been transferred to Westmead Hospital for observation "out of an abundance of caution".
