A woman has been fined for breaching Australia's COVID-19 quarantine measures after getting a pack of cigarettes delivered to her hotel room by a drone.
The woman was staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Queensland's Gold Coast, 9News reports.
On Sunday, July 11 a man reportedly stood below the hotel and operated the drone in an attempt to get the cigarettes to the woman's balcony.
However, the delivery was thwarted by a hotel worker who reported the incident to police.
9News reports the woman was fined AU$1300 (NZ$1375), while the man may also face a penalty for breaching safe flying conditions.
