Shocking video shows the moment a drive-by shooter opened fire on a group of people attempting and filming the popular TikTok 'milk crate challenge' in Louisiana.

The incident happened in the town of Shreveport on Sunday and was one of several shootings in the area that day, local radio station KEEL reported.

A social media craze that began in the US, the milk crate challenge is where users are filmed attempting to walk over empty milk crates piled in a pyramid.

But in the footage from Shreveport, as a man attempts to ascend the pile of milk crates, gunshots erupt and the group is forced to duck for cover.

The man filming makes a run for it, while one person can be heard screaming, "get my gun! Get my gun!"

No one was injured in the shooting but several cars were damaged. KEEL reported a police investigation is underway.
