COVID-19: Anti vaxxer's rant at Sydney cafe worker backfires as locals rally to support business

An antivaxxer's rant against a Sydney cafe has backfired after the business was flooded with positive reviews and coffee orders.

The tirade happened on the city's "freedom day" on Monday. It was Sydney's first day out of a COVID-19 lockdown after more than 100 days.

Pubs, cafes and retail stores reopened in New South Wales, home to Sydney, on Monday to fully vaccinated people - after immunisation levels in the state's adult population crossed 70 percent.

But video of an anti vax tirade, filmed by an unknown man at Cafe Dzajko in the suburb of Tempe, quickly emerged on social media.

Since the video emerged, the cafe has seen a surge of community support.
