A fan of UK singer Sam Smith was devastated after one of his entourage reportedly called her a "dumb bitch" and told her to "f**k off" when she attempted to greet the hitmaker.
In a series of videos shared to the social media platform TikTok, the fan, under the username _.sheima, can be seen running up to Smith and his entourage after spotting the singer on London's Oxford Street.
"Sam Smith, I love you," the excited girl said.
One of the singer's friends then appeared to approach the camera, responding: "Shut the f**k up, you dumb bitch."
The fan, clearly stunned by the response, continued filming on her phone.
"What the actual f**k? I just wanted to say hi," she protested.
In a second video, another person can be heard telling the girl to "shut up", to which she responded, "don't tell me to shut up, I love you Sam Smith".
The videos have since gone viral on the popular app, racking up more than 1.8 million views at the time of writing.
Viewers of the clips had a mixed reaction to the altercation. Some defended the singer, while others said they hope Smith is "embarrassed" by the video.
"You can't blame Sam Smith for someone else's actions. Sam Smith is the most loving person to their fans," one person wrote.
Another person wrote, "so Sam Smith says he dislikes bullies as he was bullied but stands by and watches a grown man verbally assault a small woman", while another person said, "is he not embarrassed?"
Smith's reps have declined to comment on the incident to local media.
