A Japanese woman has put her baby up for adoption, after filing a lawsuit seeking $4 million when she discovered her sperm donor tricked her in order to have sex with her.

The woman found out the sperm donor, in his 20s, had lied about his ethnicity, education and marital status.

The man claimed he was Japanese and from one of the top universities in Japan when he in fact was a married Chinese man who did not attend that University,  Newsweek reported.

After finding out the woman filed a lawsuit to stop other women from finding out, the child was handed to a Tokyo child care facility to be put up for adoption.

A child welfare worker in Japan Mizuho Sasaki, branded the woman 'shallow' for 'treat[ing] the child like an object', The Daily Mail Reported.

The Daily Mail Australia reported the woman and her husband already had one child but found the donor on social media in 2019 after finding out her husband had a hereditary condition that could be passed down.
