Footage of Putin shaking uncontrollably sparks Parkinson's rumours, as war in Ukraine continues to escalate

Footage of Russian President Vladimir Putin shaking uncontrollably has sparked rumours he is suffering from major health problems.

The video shows Putin's hands tremble in a meeting with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The meeting was reportedly to discuss Lukashenko's role in peace negotiations with Ukraine and closer integration between the two countries.

In the video, which has over one million views, Putin also appears to walk with a stiff leg before embracing the Belarus President.

"This is probably the clearest video of something being wrong with Putin’s health," the news outlet Visegrád 24 posted on Twitter.

The main allegation circulating is that Putin has Parkinson's disease, which symptoms include tremors, stiffness and slowness of movement.

The new speculation emerged a few days after another clip about the Kremlin leader's health was circulating. Seen in a meeting with Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, people have pointed out that Putin was gripping a table for around 13 minutes while constantly tapping his foot.

Discussion of Putin's alleged decline in health has emerged since Russia launched its full-scale attack on Ukraine, with some outlets reporting the president has cancer.

However, many people are saying his apparent tremors are down to the war that is raging in Ukraine rather than medical problems.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February, thousands of people have been killed and millions of Ukrainians have been displaced. Last week Russia declared victory in Mariupol and has appeared to move the scope of the war to establish full control over the Donbas region.
