Anti-abortion activist arrested for climbing 61 floors of San Francisco's Salesforce Tower

An anti-abortion activist has been arrested after climbing the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.

Maison DesChamps, who calls himself 'Pro-life Spiderman', climbed all 61 floors of the city's largest building. He was only wearing a hoodie and no climbing gear.

DesChamps was arrested once he reached the roof of the tower.

He claimed on his website: "I am a rock climber that has recently started climbing skyscrapers to end abortion."

Workers inside the building shared footage of the young man climbing the building on social media, with one Twitter using captioning a video: "My man #free climbing #salesforcetower on a Tuesday."

DesChamps is the first to climb the tower, which is the tallest building in San Francisco.

He also claimed he has climbed the 60 floor Aria Hotel in Las Vegas in protest against COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

The San Francisco climb comes less than a day after reports the US Supreme Court was set to overturn Roe v Wade, which decriminalised abortion in 46 US states in 1973.

According to reports, abortion will likely remain legal in liberal states if Roe v Wade is overturned.
