The Texas shooter sent disturbing messages to a girl he met online moments before his deadly massacre at a primary school.

Screenshots reviewed by CNN show the situation started with 18-year-old Salvador Ramos complaining about his grandmother having an issue with his phone bill.

"It's annoying," he messaged a girl he met online.

Six minutes later he wrote: "I just shot my grandma in her head."

Seconds after that he said, "Ima go shoot up a(n) elementary school rn (right now)."

Ramos did indeed shoot his grandmother, who survived and called the police. She is currently in a critical condition in hospital.

He then fled the home he shared with his grandmother and crashed his car near Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. He entered the school through a back door carrying an AR-15 assault-style rifle and wearing tactical gear.

Authorities said Ramos barricaded himself in a fourth-grade classroom and killed 19 students and two teachers before he was fatally shot by a US Border Patrol officer. An additional 17 people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The girl Ramos sent the messages to lived in Frankfurt in Germany and began chatting with him on social media on May 9.

The girl told CNN they talked on a live streaming app called Yabo and played games online together. She said Ramos discussed plans to visit her.

"He looked happy and comfortable talking to me," she told the outlet.

Authorities said Ramos purchased two assault rifles and 375 ammunition rounds after turning 18.

The horrific shooting has reignited the gun law debate in the US. Democrats in Washington have renewed calls for stronger gun safety laws, while conservatives are pushing for teachers to be armed.
