Madeleine McCann: Lead suspect Christian Brueckner had face-changing surgery months after she went missing - report

New information has emerged alleging the official suspect in the Madeleine McCann case had a 'face-changing' surgery months after the toddler went missing.

Convicted paedophile and rapist Christian Brueckner reportedly had his jaw reset and his distinctive four 'rabbit' teeth straightened at a private dentist in Germany.

The new information found by a television investigation apparently revealed Brueckner flew from Portugal, where Madeleine vanished, back to Germany for the around NZ$14,500 procedure.

According to the Daily Mail, Brueckner is also suspected of a string of sex attacks in Portugal including an attack on a 10-year-old girl just months before Madeleine disappeared.

The victim in the attack told police the attacker had "prominent rabbit-like teeth".

In their statement, the victim and her mother described how a man grabbed the girl and pulled her to one side of the beach before committing a sex act on himself.

The girl's mother saw what had happened and rushed towards them, but the attacker fled.

There have also been reports that Brueckner knew the area inside out after doing odd jobs at the holiday spot.

Bruckner is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence for the violent rape of a 72-year-old woman and has continued to deny any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance.

This comes as prosecutors hope to charge Brueckner, as the lead prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters was adamant he killed Madeleine after finding new evidence.

There is speculation that the evidence that implicates Brueckner is fibres in his van from the pyjamas Madeleine was wearing when she disappeared.

When asked whether the speculation was true, Wolters, who has been investigating the case since 2020, replied "I don't want to deny it".
