A report from the Chinese newspaper 'Science and Technology Daily' has claimed China's giant 'Sky Eye' telescope may have picked up signs of extra terrestrial life.

The report, which has now been deleted, gained a lot of attention on the social network Weibo and was even picked up by state-run media.

Bloomberg reported Zhang Tonjie chief scientist of an extraterrestrial civilization search team said the team detected two sets of suspicious signals in 2020 and found another suspicious signal in 2022, whilst observing planets outside our solar system.

The report claimed the narrow-band electromagnetic signals discovered recently were different to previous ones and needed further investigation.

The Sky Eye which is located in the province of Guizhou and has a diametre of 500 metres launched a search for extra terrestrial life in September 2020.

Daily Mail reported  NASA claimed there is the possibility of other life forms in space.

"While no clear signs of life have ever been detected, the possibility of extraterrestrial biology, the scientific logic that supports it has grown increasingly plausible."

The now-deleted report of the potential extra terrestrial life claimed it also could've been radio interference.
