A little boy in Australia has died after his grandmother accidentally ran him over with her car.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Queensland boy was hit by a car after running out of the house when his grandmother was leaving. His grandmother was unaware her grandson was near the car, Townsville Bulletin reported.
The one-year-old's grandmother reportedly rushed the boy inside, before placing him in her car and taking him to the hospital.
A neighbour told the Townsville Bulletin her husband had heard a commotion after another driver frantically tried to get the attention of the grandmother.
"He saw him lying there ... We would never have expected this to happen," she told Townsville Bulletin.
Local police said the boy was rushed to Townsville University Hospital but sadly died.
Forensic Crash Unit police are investigating the incident.
