A video is going viral online which allegedly captures the moment a young child in Adelaide is told to take a hit of a vape.
The four-year-old is shown sitting down while a teenager holds a vape to her mouth before being directed to "suck".
The girl is then seen taking a drag to which she quickly blows out the smoke.
South Australian Police told 7News that a 16-year-old boy has been "reported" for supplying a minor with a tobacco product.
"The matter will be dealt with by the Juvenile Justice System," a police spokesperson said.
Police launched an investigation after confirming they were aware of the video, which was being circulated online.
"Police are attempting to identify the people involved in the incident," authorities said earlier on Monday.
"Police have advised the Department for Child Protection on the matter, and the investigation remains ongoing," a police spokesperson told 7News.
It comes as new regulation in Australia requires a prescription to legally buy nicotine vaping products.
