A 63-year-old man has been arrested in Utah after allegedly posing as a doctor and selling fake coronavirus cures online.

Gordon Pederson sold a "structural alkaline silver" product online that he claimed "resonates or vibrates at a frequency that destroys the membrane of the (COVID-19) virus, making the virus incapable" of infecting someone, CBS News reported.

Pederson also claimed of being an "anti-aging medical doctor" with PhD degrees in immunology and naturopathic medicine, according to court documents.

According to CBS News, a civil restraining order was issued in 2020, which stopped Pedersen's ability to sell the products, CBS News reported.

A warrant for his arrest was then issued after he failed to appear in federal court for the indictment.

He was arrested in Utah County, following a three-year manhunt.

Others who sold fake coronavirus cures have also faced charges.
