Family in Mexico sit in terror as black bear helps itself to their picnic lunch

The moment a hungry bear crashed a family picnic in Mexico has been captured on video, showing the fearful people turn away.

It remained calm as it devoured a feast of enchiladas and tacos laid out on the picnic table, ignoring the people seated just inches away.

One woman can be seen covering a child's face as he leans in to her, looking away from the hungry bear.

The bear walks across the table and continues to move between the tasty selection of food containers on the table.

It then chews on the food aggressively before leaning in towards the boy, making chewing sounds in his ear.

According to Reuters, the family were at the Chipinque Ecological Park in the state of Nuevo León, which is a natural habitat for black bears.

The park's website warned visitors that encounters with the black bears have increased in the area, creating more risk for people and for the bears.

"Never try to photograph a bear up close," the website said.

A member of the family in the video told Reuters they do not recommend visitors bring any food to the park.

The video has since captured over 10 million views after going viral on TikTok.
