A man jogging in nothing but a pair of red undies has been arrested across the ditch for allegedly threatening women at a popular running spot.

It's alleged the man's a serial pest, with several women contacting police about his behaviour on a running trail in Highbury, just 20 minutes from Adelaide's CBD.

"The man is reported to have gestured and spoken aggressively to other users of the Linear Trail in recent weeks," a South Australia Police spokesperson told Newshub.

"Police, including bike patrols, had been actively patrolling the area and to identify and locate the man."

One woman told police his behaviour had worsened in recent weeks, according to news.com.au, which also shared photos of the accused.

Police said a 20-year-old's been arrested on Monday night and charged with disorderly behaviour.

The man, from nearby Paradise, has been granted bail. He's due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on August 5.

"Investigations are continuing in relation to further offences," the police spokesperson said.

"Police encourage the timely reporting of aggressive or suspicious behaviour on the police assistance line on 131 444."
