Further evidence at Bain trial of alleged incest between Laniet and father

David Bain's defence team has called more evidence to support their theory that Bain's father and sister were involved in an incestuous relationship.

Bain is being retried at the High Court in Christchurch for the killings of his family at their Dunedin home in 1994.

Witness Sean Clarke knew Bain and his sister Laniet.

He remembered Laniet approaching him at the University distressed and upset a month before the murders, looking for her brother.

Mr Clarke says Laniet spoke of her father Robin, and then said she “couldn't stand what he was doing to her anymore” - and wanted to move back home, away from the camper van she was staying in with her father.

Another witness, Daryl Young says he went to visit Robin Bain at that camper van 18 months before the murders, and says he heard Robin's voice with a female - before Robin came out wearing only a towel.
