The Prime Minister has laughed off reaction to a new series of racy photos posted by his daughter to Instagram, saying she can be “pretty risqué”.
In posts to Instagram today, John Key’s daughter Stephanie said she would be celebrating the week leading up to Valentine’s Day by uploading only “love-filled images”.
They include an image of Ms Key and a friend naked and hugging one another, and an image taken from behind captioned, “‘Kiss my ass’ a fun game the whole family can play”.
It is not the first time Miss Key, who studies at the Paris College of Art, has raised eyebrows with her imagery.
In 2013, Britain's Sunday Times said she was "not exactly a chip off the old block" when a series of provocative self-portraits were shown at Paris Design Week.
The images included Ms Key covering her breasts with hamburgers and another with body covered in sushi and an octopus.
Last year she was also criticised for being culturally insensitive to Native Americans for her use of a bright pink headdress in an image.
She also has a fan in internet mogul Kim Dotcom who sent a tweet with an image of her body covered with McDonald's fries and breasts covered by burgers, saying: "For obvious reasons I like this art by her the most".
John Key has previously said he is “very proud” of the work his daughter is doing.
In Christchurch this morning Mr Key said he hadn’t seen the images.
