Lone man trumpeted 1987 RWC win

Compared to the rock bands and fireworks that accompany today’s big rugby games, the Rugby World Cup final in 1987 was a fairly sedate affair.

Just a brass band beforehand, and a lone trumpeter to celebrate the All Black's historic victory.

While the All Blacks celebrated in the dressing room - the Eden Park crowd sung along with John McGough.

Shaun Summerfield tracked down the man who trumpeted our only world cup win.
