The Irish advertising watchdog has banned a radio advert for a mobile phone network that used the acronym 'MILF'.

In the ad, a boy says: “I will think with my pants, heart and head, in that order. At least once I'll spend the weekend spanking some MILF."

'MILF' is an acronym for the term 'mother I'd like to f***'.

According to the Irish Independent, the ad was deemed to use "undesirable innuendo which went further than being distasteful" by the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland.

The authority also slammed an advert for an anti-hangover product which featured "the sacred heart of Jesus" urging people to get "stocked up for Easter". It was deemed "gravely offensive".
