New Zealand's most famous actor opposite our youngest rising star - the star duo of Hunt for the Wilderpeople is wonderful both on and off the big screen.
Sam Neill, 68, and Julian Dennison, 13, sat down with me by the sea on a sunny Auckland day to discuss the new Taika Waititi film they are the stars of.
"It was cool working with Sam, he's such a great actor and has been in all these amazing films," says Dennison.
The film was a hit at this year's Sundance Film Festival, where it premiered before opening in New Zealand cinemas this week. Neill recalled fondly sitting by Dennison as the film played before an audience for the first time.
"We were actually laughing and hearing the audience laugh too, which was really good," says Dennison.
"And walking down the street, people were telling Sam, me and Taika that it was the best film they had seen at the festival."
"Mind you, it was only day two of the festival," adds Neill.
