Te reo Māori version of Moana soundtrack released

Following on from the recent release of Disney movie Moana in te reo Māori, the te reo Māori version of the soundtrack has been released.

The Te Reo album contains all the massive hits from the original, including 'How Far I'll Go' and 'You're Welcome'.

Kiwi filmmaker and Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, his sister Tweedie Waititi and fellow Thor actress Rachel House spearheaded the te reo Māori Moana, the first time an animated Disney blockbuster has been translated into Māori.

Originally sung by Hawaiian actress Auli'i Cravalho, young New Zealander Jaedyn Randell sings the Māori version of 'How Far I'll Go', as well as accompanying Rachel House on 'I Am Moana'.

Jemaine Clement is the voice of Tamatoa the crab in both the English and Māori versions, and brings his own inimitable take on the song "Shiny" in Māori.

The Disney soundtrack of Moana - Te Reo is available on Spotify and other streaming services.
