Tear-jerking trailer for Paul Walker documentary reveals intimate, never-before-seen footage

The emotional first look at an upcoming documentary on late actor Paul Walker's life has been released, almost five years after his untimely death.

The Hollywood actor died at the age of 40 in a fiery car crash in 2013. It was a tragic case of life imitating art, as Walker was best known for his role as boy-racer icon Brian in The Fast and the Furious franchise.

Now, I Am Paul Walker will reveal never-before footage of Walker in his younger years, as well as interviews with his friends, family and colleagues.

"He liked to go fast," sister Ashlie Walker admits in the trailer.

"As soon as I was old enough to hang on tight, I was on the back of his big wheel with him, going for the ride of my life."

Co-star Tyrese Gibson says of Walker's tragic death, "If you loved him the way we did, you would say, 'well, why him and not us?'"

Fans of Walker are already preparing themselves for the release of the documentary on August 11.

"Wow, he was such a sweetheart even at 15 when most teens are awful," one YouTube comment read.

"Such a bright soul... beautiful man inside and out that was taken from us way too soon."

Another fan commented "they say time heals all wounds, I disagree. Some things, maybe, but not this."

I Am Paul Walker will screen on Three later this year.
