Jennifer Lopez has floored fans with a 10-minute-long spectacular medley of all of her hits at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 49-year-old pop music legend pulled out all the stops with a performance that included her smash hits 'Waiting For Tonight,' 'Get On The Floor' and 'Love Don't Cost A Thing'.

There were aerial manoeuvres, there were rhinestones, there was twerking. There was even a cameo from Ja Rule, who accompanied her for the timeless 2001 RnB classic 'I'm Real.'

"JLo's performance is Super Bowl quality, billboard awards quality, Grammy's quality, New Year's Ball drop quality," one gob-smacked fan tweeted.

"I wasn't ready for that performance, she snatched my entire life."

It was a triumphant return to the VMAs stage, which hasn't seen a JLo performance since 2001, but her "iconic" routine wasn't the only victory on the night.

She was also honored with the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, previously won by Beyonce, Britney Spears and Kanye West.

Lopez thanked her twins and her boyfriend A-Rod during her acceptance speech, telling the crowd her career was "a journey of dreaming my wildest dreams and kind of watching them come true."
