Newshub Live at 6 newsreader Mike McRoberts has been forced into an embarrassing stint as a salesman at Rebel Sport thanks to his MediaWorks colleagues Jono and Ben.
The comedy duo made the veteran journalist commit to a series of awkward encounters with Aucklanders just trying to do their shopping for the 'Next Actor' segment on their show.
As well as catching one shopper in a fishing net, McRoberts was also tasked with pushing another on a skateboard and trying his hand at a spot of basketball while wearing a blindfold.
After Jono and Ben told him to hide behind a clothes rack to scare some shoppers at the counter, McRoberts lamented the damage it'd done to his reputation as a broadcaster.
"There goes 30 years' credibility," he said with a sigh.
Jono and Ben airs at 7:30pm every Thursday.
