Mike McRoberts delivers touching tribute at Jono and Ben final episode

Newshub presenter Mike McRoberts paid an emotional tribute to Jono and Ben during their final ever show, which moved the funnymen to tears.

Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce recorded the grand finale this week ahead of its broadcast on Three tonight, capping a seven year run of the comedy series.

Mike, who has often featured in the pair's comedy skits, got on stage during filming to deliver an impassioned speech.

"We love having you as colleagues and having you on our channel, being such a big part of Three. You've made who we are, who we are," he said.

"On behalf of everyone from Three - particularly from my news colleagues - I want to say, we love you and we've thoroughly enjoyed seeing you perform and do what you've done over the years. We're all feeling it today, so thank you."

On their show on The Edge, Jono and Ben recounted the speech, with Jono admitting it made him cry.

"It was a lovely thing that he did," Ben said.

On Thursday morning, Mike reiterated his farewell message to the comedy show on Instagram, saying it was a privilege to be at the finale.

"You'd be hard-pressed to find two more lovely men. And so hard working," he said.

"Congratulations to you and your families and everyone involved in the show for seven wonderful years."

The Jono and Ben grand finale will be broadcast on Three at 7:30pm.
