Sam Neill announces Rick and Morty collaboration

Sam Neill says he has been working with cult adult cartoon Rick and Morty.

The Kiwi Event Horizon star took to Twitter to announce the collaboration with an image of Rick forcefully prying open Morty's eyes.

"I enjoyed working with Rick and Morty last week," Neill captioned the image.

He provided no further details, and his involvement with the show isn't being reported on online yet.

Rick and Morty won a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Animated Programme in September.

The hit comedy show premiered in 2013, and follows the misadventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his good-hearted but fretful grandson, Morty Smith, who split their time between domestic life and interdimensional adventures.

Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon deleted his Twitter account earlier this year, after a cyber-attack by alt-right groups exposed a regrettable joke from his past.

Prior to his tweet about potentially guest-starring in the cartoon, Neill retweeted a photo of someone dressing as his Jurassic Park character for Halloween and joking about the costume's increased popularity.
