Meanwhile, Lorde retains her crown as the most popular Kiwi tweeter, with 7.81 million followers - despite deleting almost her entire social media presence in May.
The 'Royals' hitmaker currently has just two non-deleted tweets on her account, while the next two most followed Kiwi Twitter users - KJ Apa and Kim Dotcom - have almost 20,000, collectively.

End of year data shows local television also had Kiwis hashtagging up a storm, with Dancing With The Stars NZ, Survivor NZ and Shortland Street all landing in the top five trending entertainment topics.
