You Are Us Christchurch concert: Jason Kerrison leads crowd in singing Hallelujah

Christchurch Stadium erupted as Kiwi singer Jason Kerrison led an emotional crowd in a stirring sing-along of Hallelujah at the You Are Us/Aroha Nui concert.

The Opshop frontman was backed by the Christchurch Combined Choir, as well as the many thousands watching the fundraising gig for his rendition of the Leonard Cohen original.

Kerrison joins a star-studded line up of many of Aotearoa's biggest musical acts for the historical show prompted by the Christchurch terror attacks.

All proceeds from the concert go to the Our People, Our City fund set up to help those affected by the shootings at two mosques, which left 50 dead and 50 more injured.

New Zealander of the Year Mike King is hosting the event, which will see around 28 artists take the stage. Shapeshifter, Stan Walker and The Exponents are among them, as well as global superstar Lorde, who will make a special guest appearance.
