60 Disney films scheduled to release before 2028

Media behemoth Disney has locked in its schedule for the next eight years, with scores of films planned before 2028.

Most of the movies are sequels or remakes of existing franchises, but there are a few new ones too, like the story of a gorilla named Ivan that lives in a mall, or an adaptation of a webcomic about a feisty shapeshifter.

Flicks scheduled to be released in the last six months of 2019 include: Toy Story 4 (June 21, 2018), Stuber (July 12, 2019), The Lion King (July 19, 2019), The Art of Racing In the Rain (August 9, 2019), Ready or Not (August 23, 2019), Ad Astra (September 20, 2019), The Woman In the Window (October 4,2019),  Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (October 18, 2019), Ford v. Ferrari (November 15,2019), Frozen II (November 22, 2019), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20, 2019) and Spies in Disguise (December 25, 2019).

After 2019, Disney is planning to release Underwater (January 10, 2020),  an unnamed third Kingsman film (February 14, 2020), Call of the Wild (February 21, 2020), Onward (March 6, 2020), Mulan (March 27, 2020), The New Mutants (April 3, 2020), an unnamed Marvel film (May 1, 2020), Artemis Fowl (May 29, 2020), Soul (June 19, 2020), Free Guy, (July 3, 2020), an unnamed Bob's Burgers movie (July 17, 2020), Jungle Cruise (July 24,2020), The One and Only Ivan (August 14, 2020), Death on the Nile (October 9, 2020), a second Marvel movie (November 6, 2020), Ron's Gone Wrong (November 6, 2020), an unnamed animation film (November 25,2020) a remake of West Side Story (December 18, 2020) and Cruella (December 23, 2020).

Following on from 2020 filmgoers can look forward to six more Marvel films, a film based on the webcomic Nimona, nine more live-action Disney remakes, a new Pixar film, a new Indiana Jones movie, two new Disney animated movies, two new Disney-Pixar animated films, three more Star Wars films, and Avatar two, three, four and five.

The last instalment was announced by James Cameron in 2015 and is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
