Duane 'Dog The Bounty Hunter' Chapman has paid tribute to his wife Beth after she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 51.

Earlier this week, the reality TV star asked fans to say their prayers for his partner after she was placed in a medically induced coma.

On June 27 he made another announcement to fans, this time sharing the news that Beth had died.

"It's 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain," Duane wrote.

"Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side."

The two had an on-and-off relationship for years before tying the knot in 2006.

The couple shot to fame with their TV show Dog The Bounty Hunter, before filming a special called Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives following Beth's 2017 throat cancer diagnosis.

Beth's daughter Bonnie Jo shared some touching family memories on Instagram, including one image of her holding her mother's hand as she lay in her hospital bed.

"So thankful to call you my mother," she wrote. "Rest In Peace, mom. I love you so much."

Later she added: 'I never thought I'd lose my mom at 20. I told her I thought she had a couple years left, but her eyes disagreed.'

A spokesperson for the family said funeral services were expected to be held in Honolulu and Colorado.

She is survived by Duane, their four children - Dominic, Cecily, Bonnie Jo and Garry - and 14 grandchildren.
