Justin Bieber admits to drug, relationship abuse in shocking Instagram rant

Justin Bieber has confessed to "doing heavy drugs" and being "disrespectful to women" in a lengthy social media post.

The 25-year-old pop star penned an emotional message to his 118 million Instagram followers, detailing how he became the "most ridiculed, judged and hated person in the world".

"It's hard to get out of bed in the morning with the right attitude when you feel overwhelmed with your life…" Bieber began.

The 'Love Yourself' hitmaker revealed he'd been stuck in a cycle of "disappointment after disappointment," unfulfilled by his money, clothes, cars and awards.

Bieber admitted he never learned "the fundamentals of responsibility" because he was surrounded by people who did things for him.

"I was 18 with no skills in the real world, with millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted," he continued.

"This is a very scary concept for anyone.

"By 20 I made every bad decision you could have thought of and went from being one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged and hated person in the world!

"I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women and angry, I became distant to everyone who loved me… I felt like I could never turn it around."

Bieber said the pressure of being a child star whose "brain, emotions, frontal lobes aren't developed yet" did something to him that was "quite unexplainable".

The Grammy Award winner said despite the "huge ups and downs" that come with being an entertainer, his relationship with wife Hailey Bieber was a blessing.

"Now I am navigating the best season of my life 'MARRIAGE' which is an amazing crazy responsibility."

Bieber finished with a reminder to his fans that Jesus loves them, and to "keep fighting" when the odds are against you.
