Piers Morgan calls for 'whining, ego-crazed' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be stripped of their titles

British broadcaster Piers Morgan has lambasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent announcement as the most "disgraceful" royal behaviour he's seen and said the monarchy is now in "serious jeopardy".

Following the pair's decision to stand down as senior members of the royal family Morgan is calling for the Queen to strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their titles.

"In a series of staggeringly pompous statements on their gleaming new Hollywood-style website, they laid down the law to the Queen and to the rest of us about exactly how things are supposedly going to work from this moment on," he wrote for The Daily Mail.

Calling the royal couple's announcement a "pathetic joke", Morgan asks "who the f**k do they think they are?".

In Harry and Meghan's decree about their "new progressive role" in the royal family, they say they want to become financially independent and split their time between the United Kingdom and North America. According to Morgan, this really means "be super-woke celebrities… who get to keep all the trappings of royal life without any of the hard, boring bits".

"I've seen some disgraceful royal antics in my time, but for pure arrogance, entitlement, greed, and willful disrespect, nothing has ever quite matched the behaviour of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex," he added.

The Good Morning Britain host also made mention of the pair's decision to limit media access, favouring younger journalists and social media.

"I chuckled with disbelief as I read this. Even Vladimir Putin wouldn't pull a stunt to control the press like that. Luckily there is zero chance of the media following any 'rules' for covering these two now they've swapped royal duty for money-grabbing celebrity stardom," he wrote.

"If they want to be the new Kardashians, they'll get treated like the new Kardashians."

Morgan's lengthy tirade also made mention of his personal grudge against Meghan, who he claimed discarded him as a friend " faster than a piece of chewing gum stuck to the bottom of her Louboutin heels".

"To put it bluntly, she's an unsavoury manipulative social-climbing piece of work who has inveigled her way into Prince Harry's heart and used his blind love as a platform to now destroy everything he once held so dear."

Morgan used examples from "Me Me Meghan's" personal life, which has seen several rifts with her own family members, to make his point.

"Meghan's been doing this kind of stuff all her adult life," Morgan wrote.

"She's disowned 99 per cent of her own family. She's ditched and ghosted numerous old friends. She got rid of her ex-husband when she tasted TV stardom."

Finally, Morgan concluded his article with a piece of advice for the Queen: "Get rid of these whining, ego-crazed, deluded leeches Ma'am - before it's too late".
