Sophie Turner reveals she wore a mask while giving birth in powerful message to anti-maskers

Sophie Turner has sent a strong message to anti-maskers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing she wore a mask while giving birth earlier this year.

The Game of Thrones star addressed people who refused to don face coverings while out in public in a video uploaded to her Instagram Story as part of her ongoing series of "that's the tea" clips.

"If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart. And that's the tea," she said, sipping from her water bottle at the end of the video.

It's not the first time the new mum has spoken out about staying safe from coronavirus. Back in March, she had a fiery responses to fellow actor Evangeline Lily, who inaccurately described COVID-19 as nothing more than a "respiratory flu", insisting her life would be carrying on "#buisnessasusual" regardless of the risks that meant for herself, her family and the general population.

"Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices," she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Turner appeared to hit back at those comments during an Instagram Live video shortly afterwards, although she did not name Lily specifically.

"Stay inside. Don't be f**king stupid," Turner said.

"Even if you count your freedom over your health. I don't give a f**k about your freedom.

"You could be infecting other people - other vulnerable people - around you by doing this," she added.

"So stay inside, guys! It's not cool, it's not big, and it's not clever," she concluded.

Turner and her husband Joe Jonas welcomed their first child - a baby girl called Willa - sometime around July this year.
