Britney Spears explains slew of topless Instagram photos, says she feels 'lighter' naked

Britney Spears has explained why she's been sharing a slew of topless photos on Instagram as of late, telling her 33.4 million followers she feels "lighter" when she's naked.

Along with a series of snaps of the pop star posing in nothing but a white bikini bottom and pair of high red boots, Spears began by insisting: "No guys... I didn't get a boob job in just a week... nor am I pregnant... I have boobs in these pics 'cause I devoured food!"

"I want you to understand my thoughts on exposing my skin," she continued.

"I was born into this world naked and I honestly feel like the weight of the world has been on my shoulders and it's made me view myself that way! I wanted to see myself in a lighter way... naked... like the way I was born," Spears said.

"To me looking back at my pictures when I shoot, it's insane, the psychology in seeing myself in my purest form gives evidence that pain... hurt... tears... and heavy burdens aren't who I am. I am a woman.... a beautiful... sensitive woman who needs to look at myself in my purest form!!"

Elsewhere in the lengthy caption, Spears likened the experience of stripping off to the feeling of taking off a long-sleeved shirt in the summer.

"The immediate reaction to any woman who does this after shedding a layer is 'DAMN I FEEL BETTER'... therefore you think you look better!!!" she said.

"I've had a billion shows where I've done that and to my horror uhh, well... sometimes I didn't look so great... TOO MANY TIMES and it’s embarrassing as f**k but in my imagination it felt great!!!!

"I mean I don't want anybody to see the big dimple on my ass but I feel like performing made me too self conscious about my body and that's not attractive," she added.

Despite being in the midst of a very public legal battle to end the conservatorship which has been helmed by her father since 2008, Spears has focused heavily on her body and weight in recent Instagram posts.

She frequently shares images to demonstrate how thin her legs and face are, insisting that the paparazzi doctor images of her to make her look bigger than she is.

Spears, who was recently allowed to choose her own legal counsel for the first time in 13 years, had a breakthrough in her case when her father Jamie Spears reluctantly agreed to step down as conservator, despite denying any wrongdoing.

In two emotional court testimonies, the 'Toxic' hitmaker called for her dad to be "jailed", insisting he had been "abusive" in his role as conservator and rattling off a shocking list of violations, including claims she had been drugged against her will and prevented from having an IUD removed.

In her latest scantily-clad Instagram post, Spears paid tribute to proponents of the #FreeBritney movement, who have long campaigned against the conservatorship.

"There's a way deeper meaning to the movement than you can ever imagine... my fans have always been so damn amazing and I love you all," she said.
