Keanu Reeves says he's been 'married' to Winona Ryder for nearly 30 years

Keanu Reeves has revealed he and Winona Ryder are married "under the eyes of God" and have been for nearly 30 years, ever since they starred in the 1992 movie Dracula.

In an interview with Esquire, Reeves tackled a raft of rumours about him spanning his career, including Ryder's assertion the pair "actually got married" while filming the Francis Ford Coppola-directed flick.

Asked 'Are you and Winona Ryder technically married?' Reeves replied: "We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are.

"So I guess we're married under the eyes of God."

While Reeves delivered the response with a wry smile, Ryder had previously insisted it was possible that the two actors were legitimately wed during filming.

"We actually got married in Dracula," Ryder told Entertainment Weekly in 2018 while the pair were promoting another film they worked on together many years later, Destination Wedding

"I swear to God I think we're married in real life.

"In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we're married."

Coppola backed Ryder up, telling the Guardian that same year: "In a sense when we were all done, we realised that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony."

Both actors admitted they had "big healthy crushes" on each other when they first met, and that those feelings were "still raging" in 2018.

Reeves and Ryder are each in separate romantic relationships at the time of writing.
