US comedian Chris Rock has finally opened up about the Will Smith Oscars' slap.

The comedian is on tour with fellow comic Kevin Hart in the US with their Only Headliners Allowed show.

A source has told Entertainment Tonight Rock made the comments during a section on cancel culture in his show.

"Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face," the source reported Rock as saying.

Another also told Us Weekly Rock had revealed how he'd "shook off" the event after it happened.

"I'm not a victim, motherf**ker," Rock reportedly said during his 20-minute set.

"Yeah, that sh*t hurt...but I shook that sh*t off and went to work the next day," he added. "I don't go to the hospital for a papercut."

It's not the first time Rock has mentioned the incident.

Just three days after the incident, Rock had been scheduled to play a show in Boston, where he briefly addressed the slap.

"How was your weekend?" Rock said at the time as the crowd roared with laughter, according to audio obtained by Variety.

"I don't have a bunch of sh*t about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend.

"I'm still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I'll talk about that sh*t. And it will be serious and funny."

During the 2022 Oscars, Rock made a joke about Smith's spouse, Jada Pinkett-Smith, which led to Smith striding across the stage and hitting him.

Smith yelled at Rock to "keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth" after the comedian made a joke believed to be about Pinkett-Smith's alopecia.

Smith later took home the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in King Richard, and in the first sentence of his speech referenced his outburst at Rock by saying "Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family".

He apologised to Rock for the incident.

He later resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was banned from attending any future Oscar events for 10 years.
