UK drum and bass DJ Andy C, legends Chase & Status, electronic producer duo Camelphat will play Rhythm and Vines' 20th anniversary event.

The trio is just part of the first wave of announcements for the three-day event which will take place at Gisborne's Waiohika Estate from December 29.

All three of the 47 acts announced today will play the first night of the festival.

The line up announcement signals the return of the festival which was hit by COVID-19 in 2021.

It's also the first time overseas artists have returned to Gisborne since October 2019.

Ladyhawke has also been announced as a second night act - it'll be her first return to Waiohika in 14 years.

The festival has revealed Australian producer Alison Wonderland will be "tasked with bringing in the iconic New Year's Eve time slot".

There will be a further announcement of artists in November.

16,000 tickets for the shows have already been sold.

The festival has also said that details of the R&V NFT Collectibles will be released on August 29.
