Justin Bieber is expected to play the Australasian dates of his Justice world tour in December.

On Wednesday morning, the 'Sorry' singer posted on Instagram he was cancelling the rest of his world tour to concentrate on his health.

Included in those dates were five scheduled concerts in Australia and one date at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on Wednesday, December 7.

A statement to Newshub from Frontier Touring, the company representing Bieber's tour down under, said on Wednesday afternoon that it was their "understanding" that those dates would go ahead as planned.

"We are aware that Justin Bieber has decided to take a break from touring and wish Justin a speedy recovery and admire his decision to put his health first.

"We can’t wait to see him back on the road. Our understanding is the Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour is set to continue as scheduled," the statement said.

Bieber had already cancelled dates In June after fighting Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which had caused his face to become partially paralysed.

He revealed on Wednesday he was still struggling to perform at live shows, with a recent concert in Brazil proving to be a tipping point.

"Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed," he said on Instagram.

"As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour. After resting and consulting with doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me."

Bieber said his performance last weekend in Brazil had left him exhausted.

"After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I needed to make my health a priority right now. So, I'm going to take a break from touring for the time being," the 28-year-old continued. "I'm going to be OK, but I need time to rest and get better… I've been so proud to bring this show and our message of justice to the world.

"Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!" he concluded.
