Six60 brutally disses AM presenter William Waiirua ahead of Six60 Saturdays tour in Wellington

Six60's Matiu Walters has brutally dissed AM presenter Wiliam Waiirua's attempt at singing one of the band's hit songs.

AM exclusively revealed the Castle Street set ahead of the popular band's Six60 Saturdays tour, which kicks off in Wellington on Saturday.

A recreation of the famous Dunedin flat where the band began has been built for the tour and Wellington's Sky Stadium will be the first to see it in action.

The band has promised there will be a host of theatrics in this tour, as well as an explosive lights show.

Six60 has played a series of sold-out gigs in the US, UK and Canada and are about to embark on a summer tour of weekend dates across Aotearoa with the likes of Tones & I and Sir Dave Dobbyn supporting.

But when Waiirua tried singing 'Nobody Knows' to the band's lead singer Matiu Walters, he was interrupted with Walters singing back to him, "Nobody wants to hear you sing like that."

While it was a joke, it didn't stop AM host Patrick Gower trying his hand at crooning back too, singing, "Actually, William, I want to hear you sing like that, so go back to Six60 and have another go."
