Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's relationship is reportedly on the rocks as they put their wedding plans on hold amid ongoing cheating rumours.

The celebrity couple are still maintaining communication over text, according to sources for Us Weekly.

Insiders told the publication that "Megan and MGK [Machine Gun Kelly] are currently on a break but still in contact. They are very hot and cold."

With rumours of infidelity continuing to circulate, fans of the couple - who got engaged in January last year - have been speculating about the status of the wedding.

"Their relationship is pretty volatile at the moment," a source told Us Weekly, adding: "They are currently off but still texting each other."

They also said it would take a "significant breakthrough" in order for the couple to work through their issues.

The actress, 36, was recently spotted partying without her engagement ring despite reports that 32-year-old MGK, real name Colson Baker, has been working hard to save the relationship.

"[Megan] isn't sure where things stand with Colson, and it's complicated at the moment. They're still working on their relationship because the love they had was the real deal," a source told Us Weekly.

The pair reportedly got into a "big fight" over the Superbowl weekend in February, with a source revealing that Fox saw text messages on the rapper's phone that led her to believe he was having an affair.

She was supposed to attend his performance at the Sports Illustrated party but cancelled her plans after the fight and flew out on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, friends of the pair reportedly believe the relationship "is likely over", but according to People Magazine, Fox and MGK aren't ready to "call it yet".

On Superbowl Sunday, the couple first let the public into their relationship woes when Fox uploaded a cryptic Instagram post captioned with lyrics about dishonesty.

She removed all photos with her fiance soon after before deactivating her account, adding fuel to the breakup fire.

When she returned to the platform she was quick to shut down rumours of cheating, with insiders telling People magazine that while Fox initially thought infidelity had been the case, she no longer knows what to believe.
