Rapper The Game has pulled out of an upcoming New Zealand tour with Ice Cube and Cypress Hill due to "last minute commitments".

The Game had been due to take part in the planned shows at Christchurch's Hagley Park on Friday, March 31 and at the Trusts Outdoors Stadium on Saturday, April 1, but has cancelled all of his appearances - including gigs in Australia.

It's the third time in 10 years he has pulled out of a tour down under after he promised his fans a return when he cancelled his Jesus Piece tour in 2013.

Fans in Australia have reacted angrily to the news, demanding refunds from Ticketek.

The company has denied them refunds, however, citing a code of practice which states it "is not required to provide an exchange option or refund where a ticketholder is unable to attend an event where a support act is replaced or if some of the acts appearing at a festival change".

The Daily Mail reported Australian rap group AB Original would play in Australia in his place.

The New Zealand promoters of the concert have been approached by Newshub for comment.
