Vanderpump Rules star Raquel Leviss has issued an apology to co-star Ariana Madix amid a cheating scandal involving Madix's longtime boyfriend Tom Sandoval.
The affair stemmed from a kiss on camera during the show and came to light on Friday (US time).
Leviss, 28, posted on Instagram that she had begun counselling to end her "unhealthy behavioural cycle" just a day after Sandoval, 39, issued an apology to his ex Madix, 37.
"I want to apologise for my actions and my choices foremost to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans so invested in our relationships," Leviss began in a lengthy social media post.
"There is no excuse, I am not a victim and I must own my actions and I deeply regret hurting Ariana.
"I am reflecting on my choices, speaking to a counsellor and I am learning things about myself such as my patterns of codependency and addiction to being and feeling loved. I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard for my own well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritising the intimate connection over my friendships."
Leviss also revealed she'd been personally targeted over the revelations.
"Although I chose to be on a reality show accepting the good and bad that comes with it, beyond my own actions I have been physically assaulted, lost friendships, received death threats and hate emails in addition to having had my privacy violated."
Sandoval's ex Madix discovered he'd been cheating on her after she found an intimate video and inappropriate messages on his phone. She recorded the video and sent it to herself before confronting him.
That video has now become the subject of a legal action, with Leviss' legal representatives sending a notice to Sandoval, Madix and her Vanderpump Rules costars to stop its spread.
The lawyers claimed the video was recorded "illegally" and "without the permission" of Leviss.
Meanwhile, Sandoval - who had been dating Madix for nine years - issued an apology to her after the affair was discovered. It's believed to have been going on for six months, an insider told People magazine.
"I want to first and foremost apologise to everyone I've hurt through this process," he said.
"Most of all, I want to apologise to Ariana. I made mistakes, I was selfish, and made reckless decisions that hurt somebody I love. No one deserves to feel that pain so traumatically in public.
"I can only imagine how devastating this has been for Ariana and everyone around us. I feel really horrible about that. My biggest regret is that I dishonoured Ariana. I never meant to disappoint so many people, including our loving family and friends."
