John Cho threatens to 'terminate' interview with The Project over Josh Thomson comment

The After Party actor John Cho threatened to "terminate" an interview with The Project NZ after interviewer Tony Lyall called Josh Thomson a "scoundrel".

Lyall was chatting to the stars of the second season of the Apple TV+ show when Cho asked if he was in Auckland while doing the interview.

When Lyall asked him how he'd found being in New Zealand for the filming of Prime Video's 2022 movie When You Go, the Star Trek actor said he was very impressed with Aotearoa.

"We brought the whole family; I just can't say enough about how embraced we were by your country, such a beautiful place and the people were incredibly generous to us at every turn," Cho said.

"Apart from Josh Thomson - he's a real scoundrel," Lyall replied.

Thomson - the comedian and actor who was previously a The Project NZ host - stars in When You Go along with Cho and Jemaine Clement.

"How dare you - I'm about to terminate this interview," Cho replied in mock horror.

"No don't no, don't - I haven't spoken yet," his colleague Ken Jeong pleaded with him as Lyall watched on.
