NZ comic Tom Sainsbury reveals he's to move into dancing for Auckland Arts Festival

New Zealand comedian Tom Sainsbury, famous for his political Snapchat impressions, has revealed he is moving into line dancing.

Sainsbury told AM on Tuesday he was taking a line dancing lesson after being asked by the Auckland Arts Festival for an event in March.

As part of the Boot Scootin' Boogie, Sainsbury, along with Lara Fischel-Chisholm, will learn the moves in front of the public with the aim of getting everyone involved.

"I love dancing so much and I love Shania Twain too," Sainsbury told AM hosts Melissa Chan-Green and Lloyd Burr.

"I'll be dancing to Shania, as well as the New Zealand song 'Tumbling Down'," he said.

When asked if he was "coming up with the choreography," Sainsbury nodded, before adding: "Yeah I know everyone's surprised, but how hard is it to do a couple of grapevines, hat movements?"

"I dance every day; it's music first for me, then dancing, then comedy."
